Terms and conditions related to the use of the Cenaero-hosted Tier-1 cluster

Users who want to access and use the Tier-1 infrastructure hosted at Cenaero are subject to the following terms and conditions, as per the "Charte d'utilisation de l'infrastructure" (ref. PRACE_T1FWB-N-014-00) by Serge Bogaerts, dated May 5th, 2014.

  • The user commits to use the equipment made available to him/her in the exclusive framework of his/her training or professional activity in direct relationship with the project(s) identified in the corresponding access request(s). In case this activity would cease, even temporarily, the user loses his/her right to use the resources.
  • The user must comply to the rules applicable in his/her institution (university, research center, company, etc), the present conditions of use replacing by no means the aforementioned rules.
  • The user commits not to disclose his/her authentication data associated to his/her computer account (login, password or SSH key) and not to share, even temporarily, his/her account with a third party, even if this party is itself a user or an administrator of the equipment. The user is furthermore bound to select safe passwords. Similarly, the user commits not to leave his/her workstation unattended without taking the appropriate measures so as to prevent the access to the equipment by third parties.
  • The user is responsible for the preservation of his/her data files and for the integrity of his/her work environment and for the use he/she does of the equipment he/she got access to. In particular, he/she is responsible for protecting the access to his/her data files and grants appropriate access rights to other users.
  • The user commits to report, as soon as possible, any abnormal functioning of the equipment and, in particular, any suspicion of violation of access to his/her account.
  • The user commits to acknowledge the use of the equipment made available to him/her as follows [in the next section].
