Hosted at the University of Liège (SEGI), NIC6 has 2,304 CPU cores across 12 compute nodes. Each node has two 96-core AMD EPYC 9655 (Zen 5) processors at 2.6 GHz and 384 GB of RAM (about 374 GB available to jobs). The nodes use a 200 Gbps HDR InfiniBand interconnect and share an 800 TB BeeGFS /scratch filesystem. NIC6 has no GPUs.

Suitable for

MPI jobs with frequent communication or parallel disk I/O, and SMP/OpenMP jobs on one node. The default queue has a 2-day maximum wall time; its partition name is still to be confirmed.

Resources and limits

  • $HOME: 100 GB and 200,000 files per user on NFS.
  • $GLOBALSCRATCH: 5 TB and 500,000 files per user on BeeGFS /scratch.
  • $CECIHOME: shared CÉCI storage.
  • Maximum per user: 384 CPU cores, 200 concurrently running jobs, and 400 submitted jobs (running plus pending). These limits may change with cluster load.

Access and support

  • SSH: nic6.uliege.be (port 22) via your university gateway, with proper login and id_rsa.ceci file.
  • Web portal: https://ood.nic6.uliege.be with a valid CÉCI account and after registration

Support: CÉCI support form or support@ceci-hpc.be.
